Living on a prayer

So we were both very sick with a cold this weekend. With all the stress it was just a matter of time until our immune system had a say on things too.

Anyway we were watching out church on TV (it is a really nice option to attend church in pajamas when you need to) Anyway we could actually see ourselves in the audience from the previously recorded sermon, but sometimes you need to hear things twice.

The sermon was on prayer, and having the boldness to thank God for what he is going to help you with. Not demanding the whens, whys and hows, but the thanks before it is received. On this day we had no extra funds, our oldest son's birthday was coming in less than 10 days and I needed a prescription before 6:00pm.

We prayed for help. Then I relisted some items I had on Craigslist for the last three weeks with no responses that lead to sales. Then the phone and email started coming in like crazy. By the end of the day family had given us money and we had sold enough for the prescription and the birthday gift, and groceries.

It was awesome. I was amazed and God really did look after us and answered our prayers in his own way and time. It was wonderful to see the blessing.
